Review of Tusk (2014) by Greg B — 22 Sep 2014
"Tusk" is a bizarre, disturbing movie about a serial killer who literally transforms his victims into walruses. I know that sounds preposterous, but if I describe how he goes about accomplishing this, you guys may lose your lunch.
That is literally what he does ------- turns them into walruses. Enough said. The movie has a campy atmosphere and is meant to be more funny than scary. The movie is definitely dark and nihilistic and completely devoid of hope.
Even if Justin Long could have escaped his torturer, he would have come back to a life where his girlfriend was cheating on him. I would classify it as a torture horror film which is basically a satire on horror films.
A word of warning- even though this film is funny and entertaining, some of the images could leave an imprint in your mind and perhaps give you nightmare. What this sociopathic killer does is extremely disturbing, and you should know going in how graphic this movie is ----------------------------------- B.
