Review of Tusk (2014) by James H — 23 Sep 2014
Bizarre, funny, and occasionally disturbing. The effects are decent, the story bizarre, and the acting is decent for the most part (Justin Long and Michael Parks definitely shine through). The story struggles, however, with its other characters (this is one of the few movies I can say that Johnny Depp is one of the worst parts of) and several scenes that feel much to long, but the parts where its just Long and Parks interacting are great, showing Parks truly can be a psychopath if he feels like it.
Definitely not Kevin Smith's best work, but its bizarre nature and its mix of horror and comedy certainly doesn't make it a dull watch.
