Review of Tusk (2014) by Justin H — 03 Dec 2014
Terrible attempt at body horror from director Kevin Smith. Stick to the genre that you are good at putting on screen. Smith is brilliant at romantic comedy's in the vein of Judd Apatow, and he should stick to that genre. Horror is not for him and Tusk is proof of that. Too much ridiculousness to take the gore seriously. And when you finally get.
To see the gore, it's so poorly done that it is barely believable. I hate to say it, but it actually gets worse from then until the end of the film. Don't waste your time with this atrocity, instead go watch Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay And Silent Bob Strike back, Clerks, or any of the other films that Kevin Smith is more suited for. He should've given up on the horror genre after Red State which was equally as awful of a film.
