Review of Tusk (2014) by Brandon W — 04 Jan 2015
It's kind of weird for me that of all of the Kevin Smith films to do a first review of one of them, I chose Tusk which is his weirdest film so far. The acting is great, Michael Parks is actually the best part of the film, even though there's some ridiculous moments he had to do.
Except for Johnny Depp which with that accent that just doesn't sound authentic at all. He does get a bit of chuckles here and there, but his scenes go on for a while, and it just gets annoying. At the first act, I was going along with it, and it has creepy moments.
When it gets to the second act, it stops getting creepy, but starts getting messed up, and ridiculous. It's not one of Kevin Smith's best movies, but Tusk is a good movie that got me interested to see where it's going, even though there was a lot of problems.
