Review of Tusk (2014) by Nick P — 21 Jan 2015
Kevin Smith is the definition of "mediocre" director, and he proves it once again with this horror comedy. It actually starts off not so bad...and even gets better as it becomes really f***ed up (pardon my french-canadian). But somewhere along the line it forgets where the horror ends, and the comedy begins, which almost makes it feel like the film is just a big sick joke Kevin Smith plays on audiences...and I guess that's kinda what it is.
It's most pleasing moment, is Johnny Depp's terribly over-exaggerating french-canadian impersonation that clearly doesn't even know how to order a coffee correctly. (double double means 2 sugars and 2 creams, you can't order a double double with 8 sugars and a dash of cream).
