Review of Tusk (2014) by Lukas B — 15 Nov 2015
Its only redeeming aspect, was that we were happy to see Kevin Smith again - and it did contain many of the characteristics in dialogue in particular, that are so distinctive to Smith.
I literally had to set up this account to report it for being so offensive to stories.
For his first feature film production, he made a joke that nobody was going to find funny - and everyone was going to get sick after.
Maybe he could have pulled it off if he had fine tuned it more, but for a 'horror-comedy', the combinations of senses he stimulated didnt compliment each other - making it seem like he's sloppy, and bit of more than he could chew.
The story itself , seems suitable for an anecdote a character would tell - that would be a sort of illustrated short segment, that diverges momentarily from the main body of the plot.
It was an obnoxious follow through on a joke made on a podcast.
It didnt press any of the right buttons in the areas it visited.
