Review of Tusk (2014) by John T — 18 Sep 2014
When you think of Kevin Smith you think Clerks,Stoners,Ben Affleck certainly not a horror movie! Certainly not a horror movie in which a man gets turned in to a Walrus!!! That's the main story behind his New movie Tusk. Going in your thinking WTF am I about to watch and is it going to be any good? Here is my Review..
The film stars Justin long (Jeepers Creepers) a podcaster that makes his living teasing and interviewing strange people. He goes up north to Canada to meet with a victim of one of his latest podcast but ends up meeting with a very strange gentleman which array of eclectic stories. This poses as set up for what becomes a truly amazing start to a weird wild and funny movie. After spending some time Long finds out this man is not what he seems to be and he is in grave danger. His girlfriend and best friend are trying to find out what happened to their friend as they race to save him. This movie has some great comedy elements with a great opening scene with the Sauce Boss his self (epic mealtime) as well a silence of lambs type of vibe. This movie is well shot and has great dialog I hope more people take the chance on this film! I give Tusk a 7.5 out of 10 stars. A great first chapter in Kevin's True North trilogy!!
