Review of Tusk (2014) by Michelle M — 30 Jun 2016
It could've easily been one of the most intriguing yet enjoyably disturbing movies of 2014, but that ludicrous ending blew all chances of that so far away. I just can't get over that seriously dumb ending.
I mean, c'mon, are we really meant to believe that he was too mentally damaged by his horrific transformation that he truly believed he was a Walrus? He was only like that for like, what?, a few days? a week at max, if that? It would've taken longer than that to break someone.
Surely. The one-year-later ending scene was honestly laughable which is a shame because leading up to that point the film, albeit nonsensical, was unique, brilliantly executed & at times eerily mesmerizing.
