The film is a mess. It sometimes takes itself so seriously you'd think it's actually not playing it for laughs, but at other moments it appears to be trying to go for a silly comedy with funny accents and goofy characters.
Neither works, though - the comedy isn't funny, the horror isn't scary, and large parts of the film are devoted to things that go nowhere and end up having no relevance to the overall plot.
