Review of Turtles Can Fly (2004) by Anthony D — 12 Mar 2008
Amazing in-depth look into the lives of Iraqi villagers just before and during the war. Quite engaging, with one particular intense, suspenseful sequence. However, though I understand most if not all the kids weren't professional actors, some of the performances weren't all that bearable, though their images are going to stay with me for a while.
I also found it a little hard to connect with the characters at times, but other than that it's a fine film.
