Review of Turning Red (2022) by Nintendofan721 — 26 Mar 2022

Most Pixar movies back when I was a kid were instant classics, but they haven’t really been for over a decade. This however, is a new low and might even be worse than Cars 3. The characters were all highly unlikeable and annoying and it’s easy to want to see them suffer.

But of course, they get no consequences for their actions. The animation was visually ugly to look at, the jokes were not funny at all. The worst part of this film however, is the lesson it tries to send out; why be a better person when you can embrace your mistakes as part of your personality? Wtf? It’s like saying “I just let a burglar loose, that’s part of who I am now”.

There is a reason this film did not make it to theatres which Disney won’t tell us. It’s obvious, it’s because the movie sucks! The critics are trying to get people to believe it’s actually good while it obviously isn’t.

Pixar has produced amazing classics like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, etc, but this is not like the company I grew up with. I’m not too optimistic about their future at this point.
