Review of Turning Red (2022) by Shinhito — 18 Mar 2022
This movie will trigger the most sensitive of snowflake parents. Basically, the parents who take cues from Carrie White’s mother and deny that puberty exists and girls have periods. For everyone else this is a gorgeously made movie with a timeless, yet simple life lesson and delivers that message tactfully and with tons of great humor and visual style.
Everyone has messy parts of themselves they try to hide from the world, but we still have to accept and live with those aspects and true friends will still love and care for you even if you show glimpses of that mess.
If you’re able to enjoy this movie to any degree, be glad to know that you are also a decent human being.
