Review of Turn Me On, Dammit! (2011) by Xavier G — 24 Nov 2012
Delightful film about life in a small Norwegian town called Skoddeheimen. Filmæs main character is 15 year old pubescent girl ravaged by her hormones and going through a nymphomania phase with embarrassing consequences.
Something which most of us have gone through in our younger days when we think nothing but sex 90% of the time. Its nice to see that there are still teens in 2011 who are not hung up on iPhones and xboxes.
Only timeless pastime like sex, drugs and booze and rock and roll. While the theme in the film of a girl smitten by puppy love is so universal, the film is nevertheless uniquely norwegian because of the beautiful landscape of Mjøsa lake and the mountain ranges, sheep, cottages, lay out of a coop mega supermarket, little concrete bus top and the ensom inquisitive neighbor.
The only non norwegian thing that surprised me was a bottle of tiger balm salve sitting on her mother's night stand. I love this film.
