I don't know, I have the feeling I have seen this sort of thing before, but done better. The initial premise starts off well enough but it just ticks along like a drama (rather than a horror movie) for most of the film.
The underwater cave swimming was a nice touch but generally this was not a particularly scary movie and the showdown with the baddies is pretty lame. See the movie "The beach" instead.
