Review of Turbo (2013) by Loy M — 25 Nov 2013
When you have an unknown Director take charge of a Dreamworks Animation - You just ask yourself 'What the heck were they thinking?'.
David Soren (Who?) directs this movie about a Garden Snail who dreams of becoming the world's fastest Snail and yes, that too compete in the Formula 1 Race. Now forget the plot sounding absolutely ridiculous, you still ask yourself why inject a bit of 'Ratatouille' and 'Cars' and then base it on the foundation of the overused concept of the 'American Dream'?
The only bit that you may enjoy is the voice over of Samuel L. Jackson which is oh-so visible. Otherwise Turbo is one of those movies that promises to take you into the fast lane but ends up slowing you down to the point you get rocked to sleep by its inability to move forward.
