The money making machine called DreamWorks lives on. This time, the objects are snails. More specifically, a snail that becomes a race car. For every kid who ever turned something that was not a race car into a race car...this is your movie.

It's way over the top. In one scene the race car snail barely escapes a child on a big wheel-type toy. Moments later, he's keep up with ravens as they fly across town. A little later, he's going 226 miles and hour and keeping up with Indy cars! What, what did I expect. It's a movie about a snail racing in the Indy 500.

So it's cute enough. Some decent voiceovers, but again, the money making machine wants to entertain kids and adults alike, so you get Snoop Dogg, a yelling Sam Jackson (hell yes he likes to yell, haven't you seen his movies!?). My favorite is always Richard Jenkins. He didn't have a very big voice role, but c'mon, that's the best voice in the business.

I was one of those kids turning non race cars into race cars growing up, so I can appreciate this. And to this day, when I'm mowing the grass, riding the bike, etc, I worry about killing little critters and how their families and friends might miss them. So that's pretty funny that those sentiments are more or less a part of this movie. But I just get a little tired of the hipness of these cartoons. They're for adults as much as they are for kids. Franky, I just wanted to turn on a kids movie tonight.
