Review of Turbo (2013) by Jose Gabriel S — 12 Dec 2014
Clearly ripping off the exact same formula of other animated films like ratatouille Turbo is a bland, tiresome film with overused tropes, forgettable characters and a basic moral. Sure the premise of a snail that wants to race against formula 1 racers sounds interesting and creative of it's own, but had it been handled by a better director or writer it could have much more smart and subtle on what it did.
Again going back to my example with Ratatouille you get a film filled with lovable characters and deep appreciation on the art of fine cooking mixed with the wonders of France's visuals and culture.
This will probably keep the kids entertained with it's PPP cultural references and bleak humour but for the parents it's just a pass.
