Review of Turbo (2013) by Shawn B — 11 Apr 2014
Review:
These animators are running out of animals to make movies about. Come on, a Turbo snail.... Are you serious? Anyway, the storyline was pretty ridiculous, but it worked in this fast paced movie which is definitely made for the kiddies. Some parts were funny, but most of it reminded me too much of Cars. On the plus side, it does look amazing and the attention to detail was very well done. The director managed to get some great voices together, but he didn't take full advantage of the cast. You only hear Samuel L. Jackson a few times and Snoop Dog only said a couple of words. Anyway, it's one of those movies that you will end up putting on just to keep the kids quiet. Average!
Round-Up:
Animation movies are definitely worth pumping loads of money into, because they always make there money back, even though you have to wait years for them to come out. The better the technology gets, the quicker you can come out with an animated movie, so I'm sure that were going to see more coming out from the big studios. Anyway, this movie won't go down as a classic, but it's one to have in your DVD collection for the kids.
Budget: $135million.
Worldwide Gross: $285million.
I recommend this movie to people who are into there kiddie animated movies about a snail obsessed with speed. 4/10.
