This has to be the best documentary of all-time. I didn't get a chance to catch this one in theaters, but happened to pick it up when it first hit DVD. After watching this fascinating piece of work, I realized again how much of an impact Tupac Shakur had on the entertainment industry.

I didn't start getting into his music until just before his untimely death in September of 1996. I had just purchased his album Me Against the World earlier that summer. After hearing some of his songs on radio & seeing some of his videos, I had to get one of his albums.

Me Against the World was by far his best album apart from his multi-platinum smash All Eyez on Me. His music was so influential to minorities in North America. After losing him in 1996, more & more became fans of Tupac.

Like 50 Cent says in a rememberance of him, "Tupac was the Elvis of our (minorities) time." This documentary is narrated by the man himself. It is filled with classic interviews, a look at his childhood & all the people that made him what he was.

His mother Afeni Shakur was a huge part of his life. Tupac was labled as this thug/gangster rapper. After spending like 8-9 months in prison, Tupac got a fresh start after signing with Death Row Records.

The label had superstars such as Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre. Adding Tupac to that core of superstars was what put Death Row on top of the music industry in the mid 90's. Even though he was on topping the charts, Tupac was still unhappy.

He might have been getting a lot of money, but law suits were coming from everywhere. He was not in the mood to settle these suits over the next year, so he just settled by giving them what they wanted.

While All Eyez on Me was topping the charts, everyone was focusing on the made up rivalry between East Coast & West Coast hip-hop music. It was basically Death Row Records versus Bad Boy Records. The media fueled up all the bad blood they could make up including a fued between the 2 top rappers, Tupac Shakur & Notorious B.

I.G.. Well, I hope you check out this outstanding documentary sometime soon. This is definately a must-see for all fans of hip-hop music. Get to know who the greatest rapper of all-time was. It was Tupac Shakur & he has been greatly missed for years.

His music still lives on & his legacy will go on forever.
