This third collaboration between director Jason Reitman and screenwriter Diablo Cody might just be the best of the bunch. "Tully" not only represents another solid dramedy with its sights set on providing an honest and funny post-modern commentary on parenting and adulthood, but it's also one of the first ones I've seen to actually possess a satisfying conclusion as well.

This is a deeply effective emotional journey with a lot of insightful and refreshing words to spare on human development, self-care, and maternal needs, but it's also not one of those movies looking to point fingers of blame or chastise the audience in doing so.

It's celebratory, sad, hilarious, yet tragic all at the same time. And it harbors a real wallop of a third act that honestly made the entire movie for me.
