Review of Tully (2018) by Ellen D — 08 May 2018
Some good reviews here, but no one got the central point that motherhood is exhausting, but it's 10 times more exhausting when you have a special needs child. 10 times more exhausting when you have a special needs child.
That those with special needs children, especially autistic chikdren( as her child most likely was) have a divorce rate twice the US average. Really, that's all you need to know and Charlize is amazing.
I loved everything about this movie. As a mom you often lose your identity- you lose who you are, but this is demanded of you by everyone especially yourself. The true heroes in this world are actually mothers- not soldiers, not even important and effective politicians, IT wiz kids, high profile CEOs, not even saints, but every day mothers.
