Review of Tully (2018) by Jonathan B — 09 May 2018
What a great movie. I did not see the movie taking that twist it did at the end. perhaps is should have. but it just didnt strike me as that kind of movie. I loved it. it was appropriate. it was about exhaustion. amazing. wonderful performances. charlize theron is fantastic. loved teh script. loved the direction. had me talking about the themes afterwards.
They tried hard not to make it about the husband being unhelpful but in the end I was still mad at him for not helping more.
Great secne between the borther and his wife by the elevator. what a great little perspective that the movie so didnt need but was so helped by.
Loved that the boy was undiagnosed autistic and it was really unclear where he was meant to be. it seemed crazy to me that he wasnt diagnosed on the spectrum. but I trust the movies commitment to reality.
