A millennial and modern take on "Mary Poppins", "Tully" is the story of a harried family and over-stressed pregnant mom being saved by the arrival of a night nanny. The story is buoyed by excellent chemistry between starts Charlize Theron and Mackenzie Davis.
A satisfying character study that is only marred by a last act containing an unsatisfying and unexplained character departure, allegorical mermaid imagery, and a strange car accident outcome. But it has merit in being unpredictable in regards to some expected genre trope character interactions.
