Review of Tuesdays with Morrie (1999) by Angel L — 28 Jun 2008
I haven't read the book prior to film watching, and I find that 89mins for a Mitch Albom's work is kind of short, I wonder if some details are being left out?
Anyhow, the entire thing is simple as in no special effects, yet powerful (the message behind). This is such a moving story, profoundly touching and life-affirming. Although it presents the same old bromides that health is very important and that we should make every moment of our life counts... etc.., the real-life setting with a dying old man, Morrie, teaching his last lesson in his life - on living- has empowered the bromides. And I think that's how the story strikes me in particular, these "teachings" literally come to life to the audience.
