Review of Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) by Anna B — 15 Mar 2016
Kind of amazing that it gets by as long as it does, mostly by leaning heavily into the absurdity of what these kids keep doing to each other, instead of even attempting anything approaching a sense of plausibility, which would have been a mistake.
But of course it becomes the thing it's satirising in the third act, and I had pretty much lost interest by that point anyway. Bowden is (too?) gorgeous, but struggles to communicate anything behind her character's eyes, so I wasn't very invested in that relationship.
But it's pretty funny.
