Review of Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) by Stuart P — 10 Jan 2016
Tucker and Dale vs Evil is a fantastic twist on your regular horror movie. It portrays the 'psycho killers' as the protagonists, who are just a couple honest innocent outdoorsmen, looking to have a nice time on a cabin retreat.
But then some annoying college kids, the 'victims', come in. They of course assume the worst, and right away associate the mountain men with crazy murderers, and just end up getting themselves in worse and worse situations while Tucker and Dale can only watch in horror.
It's a really great movie, which if it had a message it would be to not give into all the stereotypes our culture, media, and specifically horror movies portrays. And I only say 'if it had a message' because it's just such goofy and fun movie that you can tell the makers are more concerned with their audience having a good time and being entertained than having a moral breakthrough.
I recommend this movie highly.
