Review of Tuck Everlasting (2002) by Shelley S — 17 Dec 2009
Wow, I forgot how much I love this movie. This movie is so good, but has anyone ever wondered about this movie compared to Twilight. I actually think I like this movie and book way better than Twilight. But I wonder if Stephanie Meyer had ever seen this movie or read this book before, because it is very similar to Twilight, now that I think about it. Well, similar in the concepts, I suppose. They are both about finding a true love and immortality. But I suppose the biggest difference besides time period and all, is that Jesse wanted Winnie to go with him and be immortal because he truly loved her, but she chooses to live her life the way it was supposed to be. But in Twilight, Edward didn't want Bella to become immortal, but we all know she does become that way. So if you think about it, it really is similar.
But back to the movie, I really love this movie, I'm sure it has it's flaws like every other movie, but the love story was there, the fantasy and my god, it was very visually beautiful. It is such a beautiful movie, with such a beautiful story. But I've forgotten how sad it really is. The only thing about this movie and story that I didn't like is that they couldn't be together even though they really loved each other. I bawled like a baby whenever they had to leave her. But I suppose that was how it was supposed to be, and that was the whole point of the movie. That is what Tuck told her, "do not fear death, but rather the unlived life. You don't have to live forever, you just have to live." The Innocence and the love was so beautiful in this movie, and the scenes were gorgeous, I don't know where this movie was shot, but it was absolutely beautiful. I.
The movie was so beautiful, that I watched it twice and I'm planning on reading the book now, this movie has inspired me to read it again.
