Review of TT3D: Closer to the Edge (2011) by Stoo B — 18 May 2011
Exhilarating, entertaining, funny, exciting, inspiring, moving. This is the only documentary I can think of that can lay genuine claim to all of these adjectives.
The film follows the preparations and races of the leading riders of the 2010 TT, although for the most part it could be described as the Guy Martin Show. There are truly jaw-dropping, heart-stopping & laugh-out-loud moments with Guy Martin providing all of the latter and more than his fair share of the two former. It's just a shame that a large chunk of the common or garden cinema audience will probably miss out on this.
Even better than getting an FJ to do a ton over Vauxhall Bridge it's even worth paying extra for the 3D. Go see it. (Just one word of warning: make sure the roads are going to be empty if you're planning to drive / ride home afterwards...).
