Review of TT3D: Closer to the Edge (2011) by Lee B — 24 Jan 2012
Now im not a motorbike fan at all, I have no idea who the characters in this sport are, the winners, the losers, the nearly men etc.....
Actually really interesting, the opening shot shows the start of the TT race through the eyes of a rider, and it gave me goosebumps straight away....but I didnt get that feeling again for almost an hour. Here's why....
Its shot in 3D, but that first hour is showing the competitors (Guy Martin, one of the most charismatic people I have EVER seen, he was fascinating to watch) talking about racing and working on bikes, so what you get, in the joys of 3D, is people sat in their sheds/garages/front rooms talking about the TT race, a bit of a waste of the technology, and also a bit boring for a non bike enthusiast.
But when it starts to show the races, its brilliant, couldnt take my eyes off it, and again, I have to mention Guy Martin, the stuff he comes out with (look out for the conversations about wanking!) is frank and hilarious. Complete madness from all involved, and when things really do take a turn for the worse its just like 'well, thats racing for you'. A different world.
Worth a watch.
