Review of Tsotsi (2005) by Cristi B — 19 Jun 2011
Although in some ways a normal story of redemption - that of a young Johannesburg township violent criminal who accidental kidnaps a baby while shooting its mother and stealing her car, its contrasts between rich and poor and the acceptance of violence, even murder are shocking.
Harsher than City of God, with less hope, but with a sort of desperate triumph in the end. Wonderful movie.
