Review of Truth or Dare : 6th Floor Rear Flat (2003) by Rich B — 28 Mar 2005
Truth or Dare: 6th Floor Rear Flat (2003) - "If you like both of them, that means you don't like either of them" - Leo.
A cute movie about a group of six Chinese young adults who share a one room apartment while they try to break free of their parents and make their own way into the world. The roommates, all wonderful, play awesome games of truth or dare. One night, a friend, jealous of their freedom and their wealthy families, dares them to do something significant with their lives in the next year or they have to eat shit - the landlady's shit, who is all too willing to oblige!
What follows is the standard "dreams meet reality" plot, but it's told in a script that's disarmingly loose, resilient, and laugh-out-loud funny. The acting was believable. The music was good: The theme song by Roman Tam is really good and set the mood for the film (I can't find it in iTunes or Limewire - dammit!). Overall, a fun movie to watch.
