Review of Truth (2015) by Dena R — 23 Mar 2016
Truth is an entertaining movie anchored by powerful performances. Unfortunately, the film isn't as entertaining as it should've been. Cate Blanchett is amazing as usual as Mary Maples. I don't think she can ever give a bad performance.
Robert Redford is also very good as Dan Rather. The scenes with them are great. The rest of the cast is good, including Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, and Dennis Quaid. Unfortunately, the film isn't as good as the performances.
While still entertaining, the film gets off on a rough start. It only starts getting really good after the news report. Also, the film is very biased towards the reporter. I would've liked a more accurate and fair film.
Overall, this is a decent movie that isn't as good as it should've been.
