Michael Mann's The Insider meets Doug Liman's Fair Game, Vanderbilt's debut may not reach the heights of All the President's Men but it's an effective workman-like retelling of one of the most important journalistic stories of the last twenty years.
Hunkering down into the nitty gritty of Bush's National Guard service and the aftermath of the 60 Minutes story that questioned his military record, the film is a reminder of how easy it is to discredit an accuser to obscure the truth.
