Review of Trust the Man (2005) by Marcus1138 . — 08 Feb 2007
"oh I took a wrong turn here".
..............................................................
What a cast? julianne moore can do little wrong (post hannibal anyways) maggie just keeps getting better and better and then there's duchovney and crudup, two of the most criminally underused actors in hollywood, and here they just go to show how great they are.
The friendships between all of the characters is played on issue-tainment, for the 30+ relationship crowd, but because of the likability and damn right genius of the cast you soon get into flow, mulder and russel soon set up there buddy movie element and you can't help but want to hang out with these guys, mulder is his usually dry humored but hilarious self and crudup is a little more kooky here but he totally owns it. Some of his lines are just gold!
...oh and eva mende's is in here too - but I swear this type of role should be behind her by now!? she basically just plays the cliched "hot girl"...no complaints from me, but I expected more.
Just goes to show that despite the tired nature of this genre of movie, you get the right cast in and movie like this could be made forever and still work.
Loads funnier than I thught it would be and despite some of it's obvious rom com cliche's in the last 3rd, the movie still manages to end a winner...and I want to go to one of there dinner parties!
