Review of Trumbo (2015) by Filipe C — 09 Nov 2015
Trumbo's positions on free speech and free thinking are as relevant today as they were in the 50s (or any other period in time for that matter). So it's a little odd that Roach's direction in terms of tone and subsequent (and constant) shifts in it do little to service the importance of the message, instead glorifying the style and the players conveying it.
It's not a bad film, but it should have been much better.
