Review of Trumbo (2015) by Tabetha R — 28 Jan 2016
Every year there will sadly be just one movie that reinvigorates my love for films and reminds me why I wanted to pursue acting in the first place. This year Trumbo was that film for me. I sat in delight, interest and awe as I watched.
It was extremely well written, never was anything added that was unnecessary and I always cared about this character and about what was happening to him. It had heart felt moments and funny moments. Add to that the politics of the film that could very much still apply to our current year and you have a very beautiful and intelligent film! And of course the acting was top notch and the directing and the photography aaaand the costumes! Literally everything about this movie was done to perfection.
The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is that it has not been a complete critical success and its been completely snubbed by the awards shows when I think it should definitely be up for best film, best script and best actor!
