Review of Trumbo (2015) by James D — 16 Feb 2016
Dalton Trumbo, an exponent screenwriter and novelist, soon finds himself persecuted by his political convictions.
For a period of almost 20 years, several professionals from the film industry were put on a "blacklist" preventing them from working.
Jay Roach - director of the "Austin Powers" franchise - has now delivered several films with a political message - his previous directed two to TV movies: "Recount" and "Game Change" - perhaps why this "Trumbo" has a TV movie feel.
Roach's direction is not very expressive and the script leaves much to be desired, but the acting is great and the story it was based on is fascinating.
