The lady snoring in my theater couldn't more deftly express my feelings for "Trumbo", a soulless and unbearably smug morality tale. It's full of otherwise talented actors resorting to lame impressions while playing dress-up (i.
E. Mirren as a dumb mixture of Cruella De Ville and a second-rate, Brosnan-era Bond villain). Conservative awards bait about liberal outsiders that is ugly, clichéd, sloppy, and cloying.
