Review of Trumbo (2015) by Hugo V — 29 Apr 2016
I actually really enjoyed this. I was aware of this dark part of Hollywood's history. I knew of Dalton Trumbo. I knew about the movies written by blacklisted screenwriters that went on to win Academy Awards but the Oscars going to ghost writers.
Still I was surprised at how little I knew. This movie was great in showing me more about what it was like during that time & more that went on. Maybe some parts dragged on a little but I didn't notice.
The acting was all so good & I seriously see why Bryan Cranston got nominated for Best Actor, he was so damn good. I think he is a great actor & I'm sure this role will help him get more roles, which I'm looking forward to.
It was cool learning more about Trumbo & his family. Seeing footage also from that time was really cool. It's like I was transported to that time & watching TV news & Aubrey Hepburn, Lauren Bacall & Humphrey Bogart are there!!! Loved it.
I mean come on this was a movie about movie history, of course I'm gonna love it!!! I would love to own this :).
