Review of Trumbo (2015) by Tim M — 22 Aug 2016
Bryan Cranston caries a decent screenplay with brilliant acting. There are so many genius castings, from Helen Mirren as the villain, to Stephen Root and John Goodman as a pair of brothers who produce movies.
Make no mistake this is Cranston's picture. There are a couple confusion aspects. Trumbo goes to jail for a 11 months and his daughter goes from a little kid to a looker. There are scenes from government hearings that are real and some that are staged.
It's odd. I wasn't impressed with Louis CK. I just never bought him in his role. It's in no means a perfect picture but it's one worth seeing.
