Review of Trumbo (2007) by Alan S — 14 Nov 2015
Great movie but slightly marred by lacks of historical accuracy regarding the involvement of Democrats in the events. The motivations of the "victims" were just, but their alignment with Communism was unfortunate.
While the post-war paranoia of the time was understandable, the behavior of HUAC toward filmmakers and artists was stupid and deplorable. The clear bias and one-sided white-washing of the details will go largely unnoticed by most movie fans since they will be blissfully unaware of the facts.
There where bad guys on both sides of the political aisle but this movie clearly wants to leave the audience thinking only the likes of John Wayne, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon were the villains.
