Review of Trumbo (2007) by Neil P — 06 Aug 2016
It's all about Cranston, who is reliable as always although Diane Lane does wonders with a relatively small role. Not knowing anything about Dalton Trumbo it was interested to see how much he lost due to the Red Scare and it's an interesting look at how scary american was at that point in the cold war.
Also fascinating to see how well he did as a shadow writer while being blacklisted and the role that known actors/directors played in his fall and rise (although I've read it's not wholly accurate).
A nice, densely plotted film with good performances.
