Review of Truly Madly Deeply (1991) by Jocelyn S — 23 Mar 2008
Anthony Minghella really did something right with this one - Truly Madly Deeply is funny, quirky and really sad at the same time. For a movie with a lot of dead people walking in the living world - the story he wove and the performances of Juliet Stevenson and Alan Rickman couldn't be any realer, surely.
I can't believe there'll be no more screenplays and movies like this from Anthony Minghella. The news of his death just a few weeks ago is probably one of the most tragic losses in the film industry. He was one of the best screenwriters/directors out there, and he really knew how to inject life into his movies.
So if you haven't seen this, (and I know it's hard to find) - go do it. I promise that you won't regret it.
