Review of True Story (2015) by Hotfromcauldron — 16 Apr 2015
True Story is a sleeper. No really, it almost put me to sleep. A disgraced reporter- doing a Brian Williams- forms a symbiotic relationship with an alleged killer to save his career and find himself. Motivations ring false.
Hill and Franco drone on and on—with Felicity Jones as a wooden wedge between this blossoming bromance. All involved take center stage exploiting the victims- a mother and her three young children- for personal gains - including the producers of a very unnecessary story to be told.
It’s rare I despise every character on screen. And the fact that all three are still in each others lives - is sick - I swear.
