A whizz of a film that zips along throwing violence, humour and engaging acting into an entertaining mix. I can't help but feel if Tarantino had taken the helm and directed it himself I would have preferred it.

Perhaps that's simply because I'm a fanboy and used to his oft self-indulgent and slower style, which wasn't present here. I imagine Tony Scott wanted to keep things moving. Which doesn't detract from the quality, it all its rather fitting here; it's an adventure that's exhilarating and never relents.

There's some touching romance here (obviously) which works because of the writing and the chemistry of the two leads. The film features two extraordinary cameos which set up probably the best scenes in the film.

Overall, it's a fairly lighthearted film, with smatters of black comedy, it just lacks some of the punch of other Tarantino films. However being a Tarantino film, it leaves you with the impression a second viewing would do nothing but improve upon your enjoyment experienced the first time around.
