Review of True Legend (2010) by Joey C — 28 Mar 2011
US release date May 13th, 2011.
Great fight choreography. Right along the lines of Hero, Crouching Tiger, Fearless, etc. Surprisingly, the story was quite good too. Love, betrayal, murder, revenge. Unfortunately, it was a little long winded and probably could have been a little shorter. The CGI was horrid and luckily very little of it. The fight scenes seemed to be a lot of the same stuff over and over near the end, and there was about 30 minutes in the middle when it kind of dragged when the main character was re-training. SPOILER ALERT!!!! One silly little qualm I had was that the guy could punch through stone but when it came to trying to save his wife's life he could not punch through a wooden box?
~For fans of the genre it might be worth seeing on the big screen for the choreography. Otherwise its a rental.
