Review of True Legend (2010) by Nate A — 08 Oct 2011
The plot is pretty thin, but you're not in this for the plot, so let me get straight to it: the fights are magnificently choreographed. Small wonder since they come from probably the best guy in the business.
I will say though that I'm getting a little tired of this new trend that seems to be in every single wushu film of late, and that is the demonizing of foreigners. Seriously, all non-Chinese are portrayed as bloodthirsty, thick-headed brutes and it's pretty tiresome.
On a final note, the beautiful and multi-talented Michelle Yeoh is completely wasted in a nothing role. She deserved better than the riveting herb picking scene she was given.
