Review of True Legend (2010) by Aidan H — 28 Oct 2011
Stunning epic featuring some of the best stunts and fight choreography since Ong Bak, TL also boasts breathtaking sets, stunning cinematography and all the bullet cam and CGI splatter any self-respecting martial arts fan could ask for.
Although packed to the hilt with scene after scene of lethal sword and fist action, the heartbreaking tale at the centre of the film adds an emotional layer normally unavailable from the genre. My only critique is that it tends to lag in the middle and go on for 20 minutes too long.
That aside, this is one of the best action movies of recent years.
