Review of True Grit (2010) by Stephen K — 10 Jul 2012
A mostly competent piece of work, certainly superior to the rather sluggish and overrated John Wayne vehicle that bears the same name. The cast (particularly Hailee Steinfeld) is strong, and yup, those Coen boys still can write (though this can be counted among their weaker works).
Bridges is the real draw here, and yet his performance often feels more like a caricature than anything with any real dramatic or emotional depth. Still, it is funny to watch him stumble around and blather incoherently.
hahaha he shooted a stuff.
