Review of True Grit (2010) by Francisca M — 25 Aug 2012

I have never seen the original with John Wayne. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this remake. I adore Jeff Bridges because he's just a charming man. I liked the entire cast and the dialogue. Newcomer Hailee Steinfeld was fabulous as Mattie Ross.

I liked her wit. She held her own with Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges. Matt Damon cracked me up as LaBoeuf. He fit the part well. I almost forgot it was Matt Damon. Then there's Josh Brolin who had a little bit of screen time but it was good.

I read that this version was truer to the novel than it's predecessor. Everything about it was good. It was paced very well and I like how it ended.
